”Compound” is a playful homograph to suggest on a process of design that borrows from both of its meanings. It is an alchemy of client’s needs, expectations and their story, while exploring narratives in a metaphorical compound. This derives personalized concepts that are molded into stunning spaces that speak deeper than its aesthetic.

The studio’s focus remains in crafting spaces with a personality. Evocative designs that are of far greater value than passing trends that lose its luster over time. The Design Compound strives for solutions that are functional, unique and timeless.

Joohie Patel

Joohie is a graduate of CEPT university, Ahmedabad. It is one of the leading architecture and design schools of the country where she has received a gold medal for her research thesis “Regionalism as a design attitude”. She has always focused on research as an integral process of design. Rich narratives interpreted into modern, clean lines and perhaps a whimsical twist is what she aspires to create. Through the course of her career, Joohie has dabbled in multiple scales, materials and disciplines of design that has culminated in the core doctrine of the practice. She believes that architectural design has the power to strongly impact experiences and shape a lifestyle and strives to showcase this aspect into her work.
